Want to feel like you’re in the country side but still be within an hour of Baltimore? Check out my list of some of my top favorite venues as a Mid-Atlantic and Baltimore wedding photo and video company.

Whitehall Wedding Venue

Whitehall is one of Maryland’s most iconic waterfront estates, offering couples a rare opportunity to celebrate at a venue steeped in history and unmatched beauty. With panoramic views of the Chesapeake Bay, a grand manor home, and sprawling lawns reserved exclusively for your event, Whitehall delivers the kind of refined elegance and privacy that few venues can rival. I got to shoot at Whitehall while working for a planners luncheon for Blake Events. It was such a beautiful venue – it was quickly a top choice for me.

Belmont Manor

Belmont Manor offers the charm of a countryside estate without ever leaving the city’s reach. Just outside of Baltimore, this historic manor is surrounded by rolling lawns, towering trees, and timeless gardens—perfect for couples who want that elegant country estate feel with the convenience of being close to home. It’s the best of both worlds: a serene, storybook setting paired with easy access for you and your guests.

Walker’s Overlook

Nestled outside of Frederick, MD in Walkersville is Walker’s Overlook. This property boasts a main house and tent reception area for guests. But the most striking quality of this venue is the ceremony site situated in front of a massive tree on the grounds. It is stunning and and such a nice quiet change from the city.

Wyndridge Farm Wedding Venue

Wyndridge Farm is a popular one for my Baltimore couples especially because it is only 52 minutes away from the city. This venue is single handedly the one that I have personally shot the most weddings at. We used to find ourselves here for 10 weddings a year and we loved every single one! The views are incredible and the in house catering is so seamless. Not to mention they have a great reputation for having amazing food and cider. This one is definitely the most popular with my Baltimore dwellers for that city escape countryside feel!

Kent Island Resort

While I haven’t personally shot at Kent Island Resort yet, I just love the understated luxury of this venue. It’s on my list because I would love to shoot here sometime soon!

Lauxmont Farms

Okay so Lauxmont Farms might be a little further than an hour outside of the city but with the most stunning views of the Susquehanna River, it had to make our favorites list. Lauxmont Farms is a breathtaking wedding destination perched on 1,400 acres along the Susquehanna River in Wrightsville, PA. Choose from four wildly unique ceremony sites — a luminous glass Rotunda with soaring ceilings and panoramic views, a timeless Cobblestone Courtyard with old-world charm, an ethereal Japanese Garden complete with koi pond and waterfall, or a romantic Sunken Garden nestled among lilies and wrought-iron gates.

What are some of your favorite elegant and stately venues outside of the city?
