Gettysburg is by far one of our most frequented photography locations for engagement sessions and families. Why? It has vast views, great parking, dog friendly, and so much flexibility. We love that this is so accessible and of course if you’re familiar with the area, we are always respectful of the spaces we’re in. And don’t worry – I don’t have intentions to sit you on top of a canon or anything like that.
I wanted to make this little post to show our clients when we say Gettysburg – these are the different location options available to you.
Hancock Ave. Park
Hancock Ave. has great parking and a multitude of photo locations. There is a walking path with a rock wall and large trees tucked into these paths. This space is wide open and is great when you have dogs or kids!

Side Field
This little side field is one of my favorites to take my couples to on the battlefield. It is always a stunning spot with the sun set and view. Next to this field is a wooden fence that is also a great photo op. if that’s your style.

Little Round Top
Little round top has by far one of the best viewpoints in the area overlooking devils den below and lots of photo spots. There is paths through the tress off of the main paths with great lighting and of course stone landings every few feet. This spot is a heavy tourist area so we avoid this area on the weekends.

Devils Den
Devils Den in the fall is one of my favorite places to shoot. There is a beautiful grand tree at the top which makes for a very dramatic wide shot that I live for. There is also a walking path at the base of this spot that comes alive in the fall. It’s one of my favorite spots for couples to snuggle in together.

Em’s Fav Tree
This is the most popular spot among my couples. It’s Em’s favorite tree and it has been since I started photographing in this area. It’s so stunning at sunset. We’ve used this spot for engagements, maternity sessions, and even an elopement. It’s always a winner!

Downtown
Of course there are plenty of options downtown. One of my favorite shoots was at Sign of the Buck with Sarah and Dom.
